About Zinnia

My goal as an acupuncturist is not only to eliminate the condition but to also to teach people how to maintain their own good health.

The patient can choose to learn systems that enhance the effect of acupuncture treatments such as the Alexander Technique for better posture. Good posture allows energy to flow freely, improves breathing and organ functioning. Other methods are Yoga and Qi Gong which improve health by removing energy blockages.

I am a graduate of the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Bethesda and have a national certification from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I have done advanced work in Pulse Reading and Five Elements acupuncture. Besides my private practice, I work at the Center for Integrative Medicine in Washington. My personal practice of the Alexander Technique, yoga, qi gong and meditation has given me the energy and focus to live a multifaceted life. I have actively exhibited my visual art work in the DC area and written regulations for the Federal Government for 28 years.

I graduated from Bryn Mawr College and have an M.B.A. from University of Chicago.
